Certificate of Merit

South Bay Music Conservatory proudly participates in the Certificate of Merit program through the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC).

Certificate of Merit provides students with an opportunity to develop and demonstrate their musical skills through a structured annual program.

Students work with their private teachers to prepare repertoire, technique, music theory, and other musicianship requirements appropriate to their level.

Certificate of Merit encourages students to establish meaningful goals, develop consistent practice habits, and take ownership of their musical progress.

The program provides a framework for continued growth while recognizing students' achievements throughout their musical education.

Participation

Certificate of Merit is available to eligible enrolled students with teacher recommendation.

Students commit to preparing the required material throughout the school year, with guidance and support from their private teacher.

2026–2027 Studio Participation Fee: $300

Registration deadlines and examination information are communicated directly to participating families.
